Hi! I am Carla, AKA Charley. Where did Charley come from? Well, my dad called me Charlie Brown when I was a toddler. I'm not sure why since 1. I am not a boy and 2. I don't have a depressing bone about me but nontheless the nickname stuck. My sister, Lisa has called me Charley ever since I can remember! I am the elder sister, only one year apart between us, and we couldn't be more different in personality and interests. I am a little ball of sass, a straight-talking pistol who tends to say it like it is. My voice is slight twang, slight northern harshness, often valley-girl-esq and a little too high pitched for my liking. I am a wife and mother of two, a professional makeup artist and stylist by day, a blogger by night. Nothing comforts me more than a hot pot of chili stewing away and football in the background. Oh man, I just love it! I am OBSESSED with velcro rollers and false lashes (you will thank me, go buy some.) I naturally lost 100 pounds over the last 10 years, and live, breathe for working out and eating well. I have walked through two mis-carriages, and a life-shattering divorce which brought me to my knees. I've experienced dry periods of extreme sadness and hopelessness, and flown high on waves of answered prayers. I write to inspire hope, encourage change, and to lead others to a long-lasting, soul full-filling relationship with God. Amen, and amen! I don't believe you have to live life stuck. The big question is do you?
Hi! I'm Lisa Joy. I am Charley's younger sister and the baby girl of my family. My sister is on the other end of the spectrum from me in terms of lifestyle, personality, and interests. I'm single and I do not have any kids of my own, but I believe children are one of the greatest treasures in life. I love coffee A LOT - my senior superlative in high school was most likely to own a Starbucks chain. I enjoy living ina a big city where I haven't owned a car in 5 years and can walk to almost everything. I crave being in nature and love fresh cut flowers, writing, the nitty gritty of business deals, and dirty martinis. I rarely wear much makeup and couldn't braid someone's hair if my life depended on it. I'm a lover of people and could easily talk to the grocery store clerk for an hour about nothing in particular. I believe that every single person has an integral role to play in making our world a better place and that together we can create amazing change. I write to speak truth to those who are looking for it, to ecourage the hopeles, and to remind peope that they aren't alone in their struggles. I became tired of feeling stuck in life - hustlin' for the nothin', constantly chasing after some mythical success unicorn and pouring myself into an unfulfilling life while sacrificing my personal dreams. I wanted to reclaim my life and I hope to help as many women as possible get unstuck too.
